Amazing Photos – Nolton Haven & Druidston Haven: Coastal Footpath Trail

I haven’t been adding much to the photography section lately, so I decided to go back to the good old Coastal Footpath Trail, and try to finish most of it off. There were steep steps but amazing views. There was a man with a walking stick managing to climb at least 40 steps! If he could do it, so could I! Here are some of the photos I took…

Windows 9 is just round the corner!

Will Windows 9 be coming to us in April 2015?

A screenshot of the improved operating system.

Windows 9 might just be round the corner and although Microsoft is releasing updates of Windows 8, what can we expect in this new Windows 9?

Well, there’s a theory about Microsoft’s OSs that they alternate good and bad. For example, Windows XP (great), Windows Vista (not so good), Windows 7 (amazing), Windows 8 (not good), Windows 9 (??)!

Rumours suggest that a public preview of Windows 9, currently called Threshold, is likely to appear in October – six months ahead of the release in the springtime. Fixes would match the schedule for Windows 8, which was released in October 2012, again 6 months after its public preview.

If this rumour is correct then Windows 9 will click the Undo button to some of the mistakes its predecessor made. This will involve a new Start menu, a proper desktop mode like in Windows 7, and scrapping the Charms bar (only in the desktop mode). On touchscreen devices like smartphones and tablets, where it is much easier to touch and tap than click, the Modern interface is likely to remain.

Microsoft haven’t confirmed anything, so we don’t know how much this new operating system will cost. The price will likely vary depending on if you’re upgrading from Windows 7, Windows 8 or buying it fresh. It’s even possible it could be offered for free if you have bought a new PC within the last six months of its release, like Windows 7 was to Vista users. Windows 8 (Home) – the full version – currently retails for £90 in the UK and about $100 in the US, so Windows 9 should cost a similar amount.

How likely is this to happen?

Microsoft is keen to move on from the divisive Windows 8, so we won’t be surprised if Windows 9 reaches us sooner than later. Hopefully, this new OS should fix the problems Windows 8 is causing us.

Give your opinion. Take the poll.

Llys-y-fran Reservoir – Pembrokeshire, Wales

Today I took a trip to Llys-y-Fran Reservoir. Llys-y-Fran – is that welsh, I hear you ask. Well yes, it is – it literally translates to “Court of the Crow”. And if you don’t know what a reservoir is, it’s basically a man-made lake. Boring? Definitely not! There’s a cycle route that goes right around the reservoir – you experience a sore backside (if you’re riding a bike) or sore feet (if you’re walking). And watch the mud! But if you’re prepared for it – it’s great! You’re able to stop at any of the picnic benches along the way and there’s even a café and bird hide there!

Here are some photos I took along the way…
